How Toothopia in Culver City Provides Personalized Sleep Apnea Treatment
Personalized sleep apnea care starts with understanding your specific airway, not handing you a one-size-fits-all device. Our Culver City clinic combines careful screening, coordinated testing, and custom oral appliance therapy to treat snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea.
Here is how treatment typically unfolds in Toothopia:
- Screening and airway exam. We review your symptoms, sleep history, and risk factors, then examine your jaw, tongue position, and airway to find what may be blocking your breathing.
- Sleep testing coordination. Because a confirmed diagnosis requires a sleep study, we help arrange a convenient home sleep test and work with a board-certified sleep physician to interpret the results.
- Digital impressions. Using a digital intraoral scanner, we capture a precise 3D model of your teeth and bite, with no messy putty trays.
- Custom appliance design. Your oral appliance, often a mandibular advancement device, is built to gently hold your lower jaw forward and keep your airway open while you sleep.
- Fitting and calibration. We fit the device, fine-tune the jaw position over a few visits, and adjust until your breathing improves and the fit feels comfortable.
- Follow-up testing. A repeat sleep test helps confirm the appliance is working and gives your physician the data to sign off on your progress.
Every airway is different, so we adapt. If you have tried a CPAP machine and could not tolerate the mask or noise, an oral appliance is often a quieter, more travel-friendly alternative. For patients who mainly snore without full apnea, a lighter appliance is sometimes enough to restore quiet nights. In cases where jaw problems, significant bone loss, or severe apnea are involved, we coordinate closely with your sleep physician and may recommend combining therapies for the best result.
For anyone who feels anxious about dental visits or about wearing an appliance, we move at your pace, explain each step, and let you stay in control of the process.

Why Patients Trust Toothopia for Sleep Apnea Treatment in Culver City
Culver City patients trust us because we treat sleep apnea as a whole-health issue, not just a snoring nuisance. Untreated apnea is linked to daytime fatigue, higher blood pressure, and added strain on the heart, so getting the right care truly matters.
What sets our approach apart:
- Custom, comfortable appliances. Every device is built from your own digital scans for a secure, low-bulk fit.
- Physician collaboration. We work alongside sleep doctors so your diagnosis and treatment stay medically sound.
- Ongoing adjustments. Your appliance is calibrated over time, not simply handed over and forgotten.
- Anxiety-friendly care. Nervous patients get extra time, clear explanations, and a pressure-free pace.
Many people seek sleep apnea treatment after noticing persistent snoring, disrupted sleep, or daytime fatigue affecting their daily routine. With a proper diagnosis and a custom oral appliance, treatment can help support better airflow and improve sleep quality for appropriate candidates.
Aftercare stays simple. We show you how to clean and store your appliance, check the fit at follow-up visits, and stay available if anything feels off. Most patients settle into wearing the device within a couple of weeks and keep it for years with routine care.

What Our Culver City Patients Say About Their Sleep Apnea Treatment Experience
I'm forever grateful for Toothopia and all their whole staff! Every time I come here I feel incredibly welcomed and everyone is so friendly, understanding and kind. A big thanks to Kelly and Georgina! I still have a lot of work to get done on my teeth but today I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Nadia and Victoria for taking care of me today and doing an amazing job on teeth!
The staff is outstanding, always helpful. Kelly has been a lot of help with keeping my balance straight, lol. She good at what she does. Dr. Michelle does outstanding work, I highly recommend her for all your dental work. My crown fit perfect, the color matched all the rest of my teeth. I’m so pleased with the work that I’ve had done.
I came here because my tooth was hurting. My gum had receded and exposed the root. They told me that my gums were never going to grow back and and that a deep cleaning was required to stop the recession and that later on skin grafting could restore my gums over the root. They also told me I had 12 cavities that needed to be filled. My prior dentist a year earlier told me my teeth were fine. They canceled my regular cleaning, as it was not sufficient for the amount of disarray in my mouth, and took me into a little room to discuss my several thousand dollar treatment solution. The woman there told me that I needed to go to my employer and get the higher level dental insurance so that I would only need to pay about $3k out of pocket. I left in a panic and asked my parents if we had a family history of complete mouth disintegration around age 30. They said no, and advised me to find another dentist. I bought a water pick and spent a few months religiously cleaning my gums and using the fancy mouthwash and my gums grew back over the root and no longer hurts(that advice was thanks to Dr. Google). Then, I found another dentist who took another set of X-rays and was astounded to hear him finish his exam and say “everything looks good, no cavities, just some minor plaque buildup and we’ll get that off right now”. Hope this can help someone else save some hard earned money.

What Our Culver City Patients Ask About Sleep Apnea Treatment
The investment in sleep apnea treatment near you in Culver City depends on the type of appliance and the level of care your airway needs. Because every plan is personalized, we walk you through your options during your visit so you know exactly what to expect before moving forward. The best next step is a consultation, where our team can give you clear, specific guidance for your situation.
A sleep apnea consultation at our Culver City clinic starts with a conversation about your sleep, snoring, and energy levels. We then examine your jaw, bite, and airway, and when needed, help arrange a home sleep test to confirm what is happening while you sleep. You leave with a clear understanding of your options and a plan tailored to your breathing.
Yes. If you snore every night, our Culver City team can help by first checking whether the snoring is simple or a sign of obstructive sleep apnea. For many patients, a custom oral appliance that keeps the airway open sharply reduces or ends the snoring. If testing points to a more serious airway issue, we coordinate with a sleep physician so you get the right level of care.
During your consultation, our Culver City team reviews your sleep study, symptoms, and oral health to determine whether you're a good candidate for a custom sleep apnea oral appliance.
