How Our Inglewood Dental Second Opinion Journey Begins
A dental second opinion is often more straightforward than patients expect. The process usually begins with the dental records and information you already have and follows a few simple steps:
- Collect your dental records: Request your dental X-rays, records, and proposed treatment plan from your current dentist. These records can help our team understand your previous diagnosis and recommended care.
- Discuss your concerns: Let us know what you are uncertain about, whether it involves a root canal, crown, deep cleaning, extraction, or another recommended treatment.
- Receive a detailed dental assessment: Our dentists perform an independent examination of your oral health and may use digital scans or an intraoral camera to evaluate areas that require closer attention.
- Review the findings: We compare our clinical assessment with the original diagnosis, explaining any similarities, differences, or additional findings in clear language.
- Explore your treatment choices: We discuss the available options with you, including alternative or less invasive approaches when appropriate, so you can make a well-informed decision.
A second opinion is not about questioning another dentist unnecessarily. It is an opportunity to confirm that the recommended treatment is appropriate for your dental condition, priorities, and long-term oral health.

What Our Inglewood Second Opinion Service Covers
A dental treatment second opinion is most valuable right before a major or irreversible procedure, and our review covers the full range of treatments patients most often question. If another provider has handed you a plan, we can take a closer look.
Common cases we review:
- Root canal recommendations, including whether the tooth can be saved in a simpler way
- Dental crown proposals and questions about whether a filling might be enough
- Dental implant plans, including staging, bone grafting, and timing
- Tooth extraction advice, especially when you want to keep a natural tooth
- Wisdom tooth removal that may or may not be urgent
- Suspected cavities flagged during a routine visit
- Deep cleaning, scaling, and root planing for gum concerns
- Braces, Invisalign, and other orthodontic treatment plans
For every case, we study the diagnosis, the supporting X-rays, and the alternatives, then give you an honest read on what is truly necessary and what can safely wait.

What Inglewood Patients Say About Our Second Opinion Dental Services
I'm forever grateful for Toothopia and all their whole staff! Every time I come here I feel incredibly welcomed and everyone is so friendly, understanding and kind. A big thanks to Kelly and Georgina! I still have a lot of work to get done on my teeth but today I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Nadia and Victoria for taking care of me today and doing an amazing job on teeth!
The staff is outstanding, always helpful. Kelly has been a lot of help with keeping my balance straight, lol. She good at what she does. Dr. Michelle does outstanding work, I highly recommend her for all your dental work. My crown fit perfect, the color matched all the rest of my teeth. I’m so pleased with the work that I’ve had done.
I came here because my tooth was hurting. My gum had receded and exposed the root. They told me that my gums were never going to grow back and and that a deep cleaning was required to stop the recession and that later on skin grafting could restore my gums over the root. They also told me I had 12 cavities that needed to be filled. My prior dentist a year earlier told me my teeth were fine. They canceled my regular cleaning, as it was not sufficient for the amount of disarray in my mouth, and took me into a little room to discuss my several thousand dollar treatment solution. The woman there told me that I needed to go to my employer and get the higher level dental insurance so that I would only need to pay about $3k out of pocket. I left in a panic and asked my parents if we had a family history of complete mouth disintegration around age 30. They said no, and advised me to find another dentist. I bought a water pick and spent a few months religiously cleaning my gums and using the fancy mouthwash and my gums grew back over the root and no longer hurts(that advice was thanks to Dr. Google). Then, I found another dentist who took another set of X-rays and was astounded to hear him finish his exam and say “everything looks good, no cavities, just some minor plaque buildup and we’ll get that off right now”. Hope this can help someone else save some hard earned money.

What Inglewood Patients Ask About Dental Second Opinions
Yes. You can bring existing X-rays, or we can capture new digital images during your visit. Reviewing your dental X-rays lets a dentist near you confirm a diagnosis, catch anything that was missed, and compare it against the treatment you were offered. If you do not have copies, our team can help you request them from your previous office.
At our Inglewood clinic, most dental second opinion consultations take around 30 to 60 minutes. This typically allows time for an examination, review of your dental records and X-rays, and a discussion of your treatment options. For more complex cases, our dentists may allow additional time to review your situation thoroughly without rushing the consultation.
Absolutely. Implants and crowns are two of the most common reasons patients search for a second opinion dentist near me. We review the proposed plan, check bone and gum health with 3D imaging when needed, and explain whether the recommended approach, timing, and materials make sense for you.
