Pediatric Dentistry (Children's Dentistry) in Inglewood

Pediatric Dentistry (Children's Dentistry) in Inglewood for Gentle, Trusted Care
A trip to the dentist should feel calm, not stressful. At Toothopia Dental, our pediatric dentistry (children's dentistry) in Inglewood is built around younger patients, with a slower pace, a gentle touch, and a team that explains every step in words kids understand. Many local parents worry their child will be frightened, or that a small cavity will grow into a bigger problem. As a gentle kids dentist and children's dentist, we catch issues early and keep each visit short, friendly, and reassuring. To book your child's visit, call us at 310-643-6221.
Complete Pediatric Dental Care for Children at Toothopia in Inglewood
Our pediatric dental treatments cover everything a growing smile needs, from prevention to urgent help. Kids dentistry here moves at a child's pace, with plenty of explanation for children and parents.
A dental checkup for kids includes a gentle pediatric dental exam, a professional dental cleaning for kids, and a look at how the teeth and jaw are developing. We remove the plaque and tartar that brushing misses, then review brushing and flossing in a way that encourages rather than scolds.
Fluoride treatment strengthens enamel and helps reverse the earliest signs of decay before they turn into cavities. The application takes a minute or two and is especially helpful for children who are prone to cavities.
Dental sealants are thin protective coatings painted onto the grooves of the back teeth, where food and bacteria hide. They create a smooth, easy-to-clean surface that prevents many cavities in molars.
When a cavity does form, we treat it gently with kids fillings, tooth-colored and matched to the tooth, so your child always knows what to expect. Catching decay early usually means a smaller, faster appointment.
Knocked-out teeth, sudden toothaches, and sports injuries rarely happen at a convenient time. As your emergency pediatric dentist, we make room for urgent care so a scared child can be seen quickly instead of waiting in pain.
If your child is hurting right now, call 310-643-6221, and we will get them seen as soon as possible.

How Our Team in Inglewood Identifies When a Child Needs Pediatric Dental Care
Some signs are obvious, like a toothache or a chipped tooth. Others are quiet and easy to miss. At each exam, our team looks for early warning signs and matches dental care for children to your child's stage of development.
Common reasons a child may need pediatric dental care:
- Visible cavities, white spots, or dark areas on the teeth
- Complaints of pain, sensitivity to hot or cold, or trouble chewing
- Red, swollen, or bleeding gums during brushing
- Teeth that look crowded or a bite that seems off
- A knocked-out, cracked, or loose tooth from a fall or sports
- Habits like long-term thumb sucking or pacifier use affecting the bite
We also adapt to each child. For an anxious child who freezes at the chair, we slow down and build trust first. For a child in pain or with an injury, we prioritize fast relief. Where decay is widespread or a medical condition is involved, we plan treatment in stages so it stays manageable.
Our Step-by-Step Pediatric Dental Process at Our Clinic in Inglewood

At our clinic, we keep every visit predictable, which is one of the best ways to ease dental anxiety in children. Good dentistry for children is calm and unhurried, and here is how a typical appointment unfolds:
- Warm welcome. We greet your child by name and let them get used to the room first.
- Gentle exam. We check the teeth, gums, and bite, using low-dose children's dental X-rays only when they are truly needed.
- Cleaning and prevention. We clean the teeth and apply fluoride or sealants based on your child's needs.
- Clear explanation. We walk you and your child through any findings in simple, honest language.
- Comfortable treatment. If care is needed, we use child-friendly techniques and can discuss sedation options like nitrous oxide for nervous kids.
- Next steps. We set a follow-up schedule and send you home with practical tips for brushing, diet, and habits.
For longer treatments, we pace the work and offer breaks, so kids stay in control and leave feeling proud.
Pediatric Treatment by Age at Toothopia in Inglewood
Your child's smile changes fast, and the right care looks different at every age. At our clinic, our kids dentistry adapts to each stage of growth, so your child gets exactly what they need from the very first tooth through the teen years.
- Infants and toddlers: We start around the first birthday with gentle exams, fluoride, and simple habit advice on bottles, pacifiers, and thumb sucking.
- Preschool years: As baby teeth fill in, we focus on cavity prevention, easy cleanings, and helping your child feel relaxed in the chair.
- School age: When molars come in, sealants and routine checkups protect against decay during the highest-risk years.
- Preteens and teens: We monitor bite alignment, watch for crowding, and reinforce strong habits as the permanent smile settles in.
Catching small changes early at each stage keeps treatment simpler and your child comfortable. Whenever you are ready, our team in Inglewood is here to guide every step.

What Pediatric Patients in Inglewood Share About Their Experience
I'm forever grateful for Toothopia and all their whole staff! Every time I come here I feel incredibly welcomed and everyone is so friendly, understanding and kind. A big thanks to Kelly and Georgina! I still have a lot of work to get done on my teeth but today I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Nadia and Victoria for taking care of me today and doing an amazing job on teeth!
The staff is outstanding, always helpful. Kelly has been a lot of help with keeping my balance straight, lol. She good at what she does. Dr. Michelle does outstanding work, I highly recommend her for all your dental work. My crown fit perfect, the color matched all the rest of my teeth. I’m so pleased with the work that I’ve had done.
I came here because my tooth was hurting. My gum had receded and exposed the root. They told me that my gums were never going to grow back and and that a deep cleaning was required to stop the recession and that later on skin grafting could restore my gums over the root. They also told me I had 12 cavities that needed to be filled. My prior dentist a year earlier told me my teeth were fine. They canceled my regular cleaning, as it was not sufficient for the amount of disarray in my mouth, and took me into a little room to discuss my several thousand dollar treatment solution. The woman there told me that I needed to go to my employer and get the higher level dental insurance so that I would only need to pay about $3k out of pocket. I left in a panic and asked my parents if we had a family history of complete mouth disintegration around age 30. They said no, and advised me to find another dentist. I bought a water pick and spent a few months religiously cleaning my gums and using the fancy mouthwash and my gums grew back over the root and no longer hurts(that advice was thanks to Dr. Google). Then, I found another dentist who took another set of X-rays and was astounded to hear him finish his exam and say “everything looks good, no cavities, just some minor plaque buildup and we’ll get that off right now”. Hope this can help someone else save some hard earned money.
