Endodontics (Root Canal) in Inglewood

Endodontics for Long-Term Tooth Preservation in Inglewood
A painful or infected tooth does not always mean losing it. Our team uses advanced endodontics in Inglewood to clear infection from deep inside the tooth, relieve your pain, and protect your natural smile for the long term. Root canal therapy treats the soft inner pulp when it becomes inflamed or infected, so you can chew, speak, and smile in comfort again. If you are coping with a lingering toothache, hot and cold sensitivity, or swollen gums, gentle and effective care is closer than you think.

Endodontic Treatment Signs & When to Visit Toothopia Dental in Inglewood
You may need endodontic treatment when decay, a crack, or an injury reaches the nerve inside your tooth and triggers infection or lasting pain. Spotting these warning signs early often makes the difference between saving and losing the tooth.
- Severe or persistent tooth pain, especially when biting or chewing
- Lingering sensitivity to hot and cold that does not fade quickly
- Swollen, tender gums or a small bump near the affected tooth
- A darkening or discolored tooth
- A deep cavity, cracked tooth, or other visible damage
- Signs of a tooth abscess, such as a bad taste, pus, or facial swelling
If you have an abscess or facial swelling, treat it as urgent and reach out the same day, since a dental infection can spread quickly. For patients who feel anxious about dental work, our calm, step-by-step approach and sedation options make the visit far easier than expected.

Your Root Canal Treatment Journey in Our Inglewood Clinic
Root canal treatment at Toothopia Dental removes infected pulp, disinfects the canal, and seals the tooth, usually across one or two visits of about 60 to 90 minutes each. Here is what to expect at each stage.
- Examination and imaging. We use digital X-rays and, when needed, a 3D CBCT scan to map the canals and assess the extent of infection.
- Comfortable numbing. Local anesthesia fully numbs the area, so most patients feel only light pressure during the procedure.
- Pulp removal and cleaning. We open the tooth, remove the infected pulp, then clean and shape the canal with fine rotary instruments.
- Disinfection. The canal is carefully flushed and disinfected to reduce the risk of reinfection.
- Filling and sealing. A biocompatible material called gutta-percha fills the canal, and the opening is sealed.
- Final restoration. A dental crown or filling restores strength so the tooth can handle everyday chewing again.
In cases where a tooth has extra canals, curved roots, or a previous failed treatment, the visit may take longer or require specialized retreatment. At Toothopia Dental, we also see many patients who prefer faster results, and when the tooth allows, root canal treatment can often be completed in a single appointment.

Benefits of Choosing Endodontic Treatment with Our Team in Inglewood
Endodontic treatment with our team in Inglewood is focused on saving your natural tooth, eliminating infection at its source, and helping you avoid the complications that often come with tooth extraction and replacement.
- Saves your natural tooth, which is almost always more stable and functional than a replacement
- Relieves severe tooth pain and pressure by treating the infection directly inside the tooth
- Helps prevent the spread of infection to surrounding teeth and supporting bone
- Restores normal chewing and biting function once the tooth is properly restored with a crown
- Provides a reliable, long-term alternative to tooth extraction
- Helps maintain the natural alignment and appearance of your smile
At our Inglewood clinic, we often see patients who initially believe extraction is the simpler option. In many cases, preserving the natural tooth with endodontic treatment leads to better long-term oral health and reduces the need for more complex restorative procedures later on.

Our Team’s Recommendations for After Root Canal Treatment in Inglewood
After a root canal, mild soreness for a few days is normal, and most patients return to their usual routine within 24 to 48 hours. A few simple steps help your tooth heal smoothly.
- Take any recommended over-the-counter pain relief as directed for the first day or two
- Chew on the opposite side until your permanent crown or filling is placed
- Keep brushing and flossing gently around the treated tooth
- Avoid very hard or sticky foods that could stress a temporary restoration
- Return for your permanent crown to fully protect and strengthen the tooth
- Contact us promptly if pain, swelling, or sensitivity gets worse after a few days
Following these steps helps your restored tooth last for many years. If anything feels off during recovery, our Inglewood team is only a phone call away.

What Our Root Canal Patients in Inglewood Say About Us
I'm forever grateful for Toothopia and all their whole staff! Every time I come here I feel incredibly welcomed and everyone is so friendly, understanding and kind. A big thanks to Kelly and Georgina! I still have a lot of work to get done on my teeth but today I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Nadia and Victoria for taking care of me today and doing an amazing job on teeth!
I've been traumatized to go to the dentist since I was 12... I finally got dental insurance 4 years ago, but went to another dentist that traumatized me even more.... 4 years later, I found the best dentist I didn't even know existed which was only 7 minutes away from my house... it was like watching heavens door open, not to be dramatic or anything, but I was truly blessed no lie.... my biggest worry was a root canal I haven't covered in 14 years, they fixed that right up, gave me a crown, did my cleaning, filled some old cavity fillings and the price was heaven sent as well with my insurance I could cry... I finally am able to fix my teeth without struggling to choose between having a healthy mouth or buying groceries ...and the front desk is so nice! Everyone is so nice! They remember your face and name it doesn't even feel like im going to the dentist, thank you so much for existing
I came here because my tooth was hurting. My gum had receded and exposed the root. They told me that my gums were never going to grow back and and that a deep cleaning was required to stop the recession and that later on skin grafting could restore my gums over the root. They also told me I had 12 cavities that needed to be filled. My prior dentist a year earlier told me my teeth were fine. They canceled my regular cleaning, as it was not sufficient for the amount of disarray in my mouth, and took me into a little room to discuss my several thousand dollar treatment solution. The woman there told me that I needed to go to my employer and get the higher level dental insurance so that I would only need to pay about $3k out of pocket. I left in a panic and asked my parents if we had a family history of complete mouth disintegration around age 30. They said no, and advised me to find another dentist. I bought a water pick and spent a few months religiously cleaning my gums and using the fancy mouthwash and my gums grew back over the root and no longer hurts(that advice was thanks to Dr. Google). Then, I found another dentist who took another set of X-rays and was astounded to hear him finish his exam and say “everything looks good, no cavities, just some minor plaque buildup and we’ll get that off right now”. Hope this can help someone else save some hard earned money.
