Step-by-Step Dental Implant Procedure at Our Clinic in Culver City

The dental implant procedure follows a clear, staged path built for safety and lasting results. Here is what your dental implant surgery journey looks like with our team:

  1. Consultation and 3D imaging: We start with a dental implant consultation and a 3D CBCT scan to check your bone density, gum health, and jaw structure.
  2. Treatment planning: We map out precise implant placement using digital scans, so every step is predictable.
  3. Bone grafting (if needed): If bone loss is present, we may recommend a bone graft first to build a strong base.
  4. Implant placement: During a minimally invasive surgery under local anesthesia or sedation, we place the titanium implant post into the jawbone. Most single placements take about 60 to 90 minutes.
  5. Osseointegration: Over the next few months, the implant fuses with your bone through a process called osseointegration, forming a secure anchor.
  6. Final restoration: Once healed, we attach a custom dental crown, bridge, or denture that blends naturally with your smile.

Every stage is paced around your comfort. Ask us about sedation options if dental work makes you nervous, and call us anytime with questions.

Dental Implant Solutions by Our Team in Culver City

We provide a full range of dental implant solutions, from a single tooth to full-arch restoration. The right choice depends on how many teeth are missing and the health of your jawbone. Common options:

  • Single tooth implant: A titanium post and dental crown replace one missing tooth without affecting neighboring teeth.
  • Multiple teeth implants: Several implants support a bridge to restore a row of missing teeth.
  • Fixed implant dentures: A permanent, implant-supported set of teeth that stays in place and never needs removal.
  • Implant-retained dentures: Removable overdentures that snap onto implants for a secure, stable fit.
  • Full-arch restoration: All-on-X implants rebuild an entire arch with as few as four to six implants.

In more complex cases, such as advanced bone loss, bone grafting may be recommended before implant placement. We also support patients who need urgent evaluation after a lost or broken tooth, cases involving failed previous treatments, and those interested in faster or same-day options.

At Toothopia Dental, our team guides you through every step to help you choose the most suitable tooth replacement solution for your smile.

Dental Implant Recovery and Healing Support from Our Team in Culver City

Recovery from dental implant surgery is often smoother than patients expect. Most people manage any soreness with over-the-counter pain relief and return to normal activity within a day or two. Healing happens in stages, and we support you through each one.

What to expect during the healing period:

  1. First 24 to 48 hours: Mild swelling and tenderness are normal. Rest, cold compresses, and soft foods help.
  2. First week: Stick to soft foods and gentle oral hygiene around the site. Any stitches are typically removed or dissolve within about a week.
  3. Osseointegration phase: Over the next few months, the implant bonds with your bone. You will wear a temporary restoration if needed.
  4. Final restoration: Once healed, we place your permanent crown, bridge, or denture.

To protect your new smile, keep up good oral hygiene, use an antiseptic mouthwash if we recommend it, and attend follow-up visits so we can monitor healing and prevent infection. If you have any concerns during recovery, our team is only a phone call away.

I've been traumatized to go to the dentist since I was 12... I finally got dental insurance 4 years ago, but went to another dentist that traumatized me even more.... 4 years later, I found the best dentist I didn't even know existed which was only 7 minutes away from my house... it was like watching heavens door open, not to be dramatic or anything, but I was truly blessed no lie.... my biggest worry was a root canal I haven't covered in 14 years, they fixed that right up, gave me a crown, did my cleaning, filled some old cavity fillings and the price was heaven sent as well with my insurance I could cry... I finally am able to fix my teeth without struggling to choose between having a healthy mouth or buying groceries ...and the front desk is so nice! Everyone is so nice! They remember your face and name it doesn't even feel like im going to the dentist, thank you so much for existing

I came here because my tooth was hurting. My gum had receded and exposed the root. They told me that my gums were never going to grow back and and that a deep cleaning was required to stop the recession and that later on skin grafting could restore my gums over the root. They also told me I had 12 cavities that needed to be filled. My prior dentist a year earlier told me my teeth were fine. They canceled my regular cleaning, as it was not sufficient for the amount of disarray in my mouth, and took me into a little room to discuss my several thousand dollar treatment solution. The woman there told me that I needed to go to my employer and get the higher level dental insurance so that I would only need to pay about $3k out of pocket. I left in a panic and asked my parents if we had a family history of complete mouth disintegration around age 30. They said no, and advised me to find another dentist. I bought a water pick and spent a few months religiously cleaning my gums and using the fancy mouthwash and my gums grew back over the root and no longer hurts(that advice was thanks to Dr. Google). Then, I found another dentist who took another set of X-rays and was astounded to hear him finish his exam and say “everything looks good, no cavities, just some minor plaque buildup and we’ll get that off right now”. Hope this can help someone else save some hard earned money.

Dental Implants Questions from Culver City Patients

How long does dental implant treatment take at your Culver City clinic?

At our Culver City clinic, the full dental implant process usually takes a few months from consultation to final restoration. This allows time for the implant to properly integrate with the jawbone for long-term stability. Simple cases may progress faster, while more complex treatments may take longer. Our team will provide a clear timeline during your consultation based on your specific needs.

Can I get dental implant treatment in Culver City without a referral from another dentist?

Yes, you do not need a referral to start dental implant treatment at our Culver City clinic. You can book directly with Toothopia Dental, where we begin with a full exam and 3D scan to evaluate your needs. If you already have recent X-rays from another dentist, they can help speed up the initial assessment, but they are not required.

How much do dental implants cost near me in Culver City?

The cost of dental implants in Culver City depends on the number of teeth replaced and your individual treatment needs. At Toothopia Dental, we create a personalized plan after your exam and 3D scan so you know exactly what’s right for your case.
