Our Dental Crown Process at Toothopia Dental in Inglewood
Getting a dental crown with our team follows a clear, comfortable path. Here is how the treatment usually unfolds:
We examine the tooth, take digital images, and confirm whether a crown is the right fix or whether a filling, root canal treatment, or implant crown suits you better.
After local anesthesia genumbedntly numbs the area, we reshape the damaged tooth to create room for the crown.
We capture the exact shape of your tooth with a fast digital scan, or a traditional dental impression, so the crown fits precisely.
In most cases, you leave with a temporary crown that protects the tooth while your permanent crown is being made.
At your next visit, we will check the fit and color, then bond the permanent crown securely in place.
Prefer to finish in one trip? Ask about same-day CEREC crowns, milled in our clinic with CAD/CAM technology, so many patients walk out fully restored the same day.

How Our Team in Inglewood Restores Your Damaged Teeth with Custom Dental Crowns
A dental crown is a custom cap that covers a weak or damaged tooth and restores its strength, shape, and natural appearance. Our team often recommends a crown when a tooth is cracked, fractured, chipped, severely decayed, or left fragile by a large or failed filling. A crown is also placed over a tooth after root canal therapy, fitted on top of a dental implant, or used to anchor a dental bridge that replaces a missing tooth.
Because every smile is different, we craft each tooth crown from the material that best balances strength and looks for its position in your mouth:
Whichever material fits best, we match the shade carefully to your surrounding teeth, so your restored tooth blends in rather than stands out.
Not sure which crown is right for you? Schedule a consultation, and our Inglewood team will recommend the best option for your tooth.
Highly natural-looking and ideal for front teeth and visible smiles.
Exceptionally strong, with full zirconia and translucent zirconia options for back teeth that take heavy chewing force.
A premium ceramic prized for blending durability with a lifelike glow.
A time-tested mix of a metal core and a porcelain surface.
Long-lasting choices sometimes preferred for hard-working molars.
What to Expect from Dental Crown Treatment at Our Inglewood Clinic
Most crown treatments are straightforward and far more comfortable than patients expect. Here is what your experience typically looks like:
- Number of visits: A traditional crown usually takes two visits, about one to two weeks apart, while a same-day crown can be completed in a single appointment.
- Comfort: Local anesthesia keeps the preparation painless, and any mild sensitivity afterward generally settles within a few days.
- Your temporary crown: Go easy on very hard or sticky foods on that side until your permanent crown is fitted.
- The final result: Once bonded, your permanent crown should feel and function like a natural tooth.
Your exact timeline depends on the tooth and the material you choose, which we confirm during your in-person exam.
Why Dental Crowns Are a Reliable Solution for Tooth Restoration in Inglewood
Dental crowns remain one of the most dependable ways to save a damaged tooth and avoid losing it altogether. That is why our team relies on them so often to help local patients keep their natural teeth:
A well-cared-for crown often lasts ten to fifteen years or more, and many patients keep theirs even longer.
A crown seals and supports a weakened or cracked tooth, lowering the risk of further breakage.
Modern ceramic and zirconia crowns are color-matched for a seamless, natural appearance.
You can return to chewing comfortably on both sides of your mouth.
Crowns repair broken teeth and also complete other treatments such as root canals, implants, and bridges.

Dental Crown Care Tips from Our Inglewood Dental Team
Caring for a dental crown is simple, and a few good habits help it last for many years:
- Brush twice a day and floss daily, paying close attention to the gumline around your crown.
- Avoid biting hard objects like ice, pens, or fingernails, which can chip even a strong crown.
- If you grind or clench your teeth (bruxism), ask us about a custom night guard to protect your crown and your natural teeth.
- Keep up with regular checkups and cleanings so we can spot any issues early.
- Treat your crown like a natural tooth, because healthy gums and bone underneath are what keep it secure over time.

What Inglewood Patients Say About Us
I'm forever grateful for Toothopia and all their whole staff! Every time I come here I feel incredibly welcomed and everyone is so friendly, understanding and kind. A big thanks to Kelly and Georgina! I still have a lot of work to get done on my teeth but today I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Nadia and Victoria for taking care of me today and doing an amazing job on teeth!
I've been traumatized to go to the dentist since I was 12... I finally got dental insurance 4 years ago, but went to another dentist that traumatized me even more.... 4 years later, I found the best dentist I didn't even know existed which was only 7 minutes away from my house... it was like watching heavens door open, not to be dramatic or anything, but I was truly blessed no lie.... my biggest worry was a root canal I haven't covered in 14 years, they fixed that right up, gave me a crown, did my cleaning, filled some old cavity fillings and the price was heaven sent as well with my insurance I could cry... I finally am able to fix my teeth without struggling to choose between having a healthy mouth or buying groceries ...and the front desk is so nice! Everyone is so nice! They remember your face and name it doesn't even feel like im going to the dentist, thank you so much for existing
I came here because my tooth was hurting. My gum had receded and exposed the root. They told me that my gums were never going to grow back and and that a deep cleaning was required to stop the recession and that later on skin grafting could restore my gums over the root. They also told me I had 12 cavities that needed to be filled. My prior dentist a year earlier told me my teeth were fine. They canceled my regular cleaning, as it was not sufficient for the amount of disarray in my mouth, and took me into a little room to discuss my several thousand dollar treatment solution. The woman there told me that I needed to go to my employer and get the higher level dental insurance so that I would only need to pay about $3k out of pocket. I left in a panic and asked my parents if we had a family history of complete mouth disintegration around age 30. They said no, and advised me to find another dentist. I bought a water pick and spent a few months religiously cleaning my gums and using the fancy mouthwash and my gums grew back over the root and no longer hurts(that advice was thanks to Dr. Google). Then, I found another dentist who took another set of X-rays and was astounded to hear him finish his exam and say “everything looks good, no cavities, just some minor plaque buildup and we’ll get that off right now”. Hope this can help someone else save some hard earned money.

Common Questions About Dental Crowns from Inglewood Patients
Yes, in many cases. With same-day CEREC technology, we use CAD/CAM scanning and milling to design and place your crown in one appointment, so you skip the temporary crown and the second visit.
We offer weekday appointments for dental crown treatment, including evening availability, but we are not open on weekends. Call us to find the next available time that fits your schedule.
Keep the crown, avoid chewing on that side, and call our office as soon as possible. Do not try to glue it back yourself, as it can damage the tooth. In many cases, we can re-cement the same crown if you get treatment quickly.
