Baby Teeth Crowns in Culver City

Baby Teeth Crowns in Culver City

Baby Teeth Crowns in Culver City for Children Needing Tooth Protection

Small, custom-fitted caps can cover and protect a child's decayed, cracked, or weakened baby tooth, helping them chew comfortably and keeping the tooth in place until it falls out naturally. When a cavity grows too large for a simple filling to hold, a crown can restore the whole tooth and shield it from further damage, often in a single visit. For children needing Baby Teeth Crowns in Culver City, our team uses a calm, reassuring approach that keeps young patients relaxed from start to finish.

If your child has a sore or badly damaged tooth, call 310-643-6611 to schedule a visit and learn how we can protect their smile with gentle, child-friendly care.

Baby Teeth Crown Options for Your Child in Culver City

A crown may be recommended when a baby tooth has extensive decay or damage that cannot be reliably restored with a filling. At Toothopia, pediatric dental crowns cover and protect the entire tooth, helping restore normal function and maintain the tooth until it is naturally lost. The crown options we offer are:

  • Stainless steel crowns: Durable preformed crowns, ideal for back baby molars where chewing pressure is highest.
  • Tooth-colored crowns: A natural-looking option for teeth that are more visible when your child smiles.
  • Crowns after a pulpotomy: Protect teeth that have been treated for deeper decay or infection.
  • Crowns for cracked or weakened teeth: Help restore and protect primary teeth affected by cracks, chips, or developmental enamel problems.

Baby Teeth Crowns Treatment at Toothopia from Checkup to Placement

From the first checkup to the final fit, the crown process is straightforward and gentle. Most crowns are completed in one appointment per tooth, so your child spends less time in the chair. Here is how crown placement for children usually unfolds:

Gentle exam and digital X-rays

We start with a careful pediatric dental examination and low-radiation digital X-rays to see how deep the decay reaches and confirm a crown is the right fit.

2. Comfortable numbing

We fully numb the area so your child feels pressure at most, not pain, and we explain each step in words a child can understand.

3. Removing the decay

We clean away the decayed part of the tooth. If the decay has reached the nerve, a pulpotomy may be done first to keep the tooth healthy.

4. Fitting the crown

We select and shape a crown that fits the tooth snugly and sits comfortably against the neighboring teeth.

5. Placing the crown

The crown is secured in place, and we check the bite so it feels natural when your child chews.

6. Final check and aftercare

We make sure your child is comfortable and share a few simple tips for the first day or two.

Most children feel back to normal within hours, once any numbness wears off. Soft foods for the rest of the day and gentle brushing around the crown are usually all that is needed.

A Child-Friendly Baby Teeth Crown Experience in Culver City

For many parents, the biggest concern is not the treatment itself but how their child will feel in the dental chair. At Toothopia Dental, we focus on comfort first, using friendly language, a calm pace, and plenty of reassurance to help nervous children feel safe and supported throughout their visit.

We tailor the experience to each child's needs:

  • Local anaesthesia: Numbs the tooth to help keep the procedure comfortable and pain-free.
  • Sedation options: May help anxious children relax during treatment when appropriate.
  • For nervous children: We explain each step in a calm, age-appropriate way before beginning.
  • For urgent dental needs: We aim to see children promptly when pain or swelling requires attention.
  • When a pulpotomy is needed: We can often complete the pulpotomy and crown treatment during the same visit.
  • For families seeking convenience: Most crowns can be placed in a single appointment, allowing your child to leave with a protected tooth.

I came here because my tooth was hurting. My gum had receded and exposed the root. They told me that my gums were never going to grow back and and that a deep cleaning was required to stop the recession and that later on skin grafting could restore my gums over the root. They also told me I had 12 cavities that needed to be filled. My prior dentist a year earlier told me my teeth were fine. They canceled my regular cleaning, as it was not sufficient for the amount of disarray in my mouth, and took me into a little room to discuss my several thousand dollar treatment solution. The woman there told me that I needed to go to my employer and get the higher level dental insurance so that I would only need to pay about $3k out of pocket. I left in a panic and asked my parents if we had a family history of complete mouth disintegration around age 30. They said no, and advised me to find another dentist. I bought a water pick and spent a few months religiously cleaning my gums and using the fancy mouthwash and my gums grew back over the root and no longer hurts(that advice was thanks to Dr. Google). Then, I found another dentist who took another set of X-rays and was astounded to hear him finish his exam and say “everything looks good, no cavities, just some minor plaque buildup and we’ll get that off right now”. Hope this can help someone else save some hard earned money.
